The seat of Queen Anne's County since 1782, Centreville is a quiet, historic town offering easy access to the Corsica River and a generous array of quaint shops, restaurants and parks, as well as buildings of historical interest. The town offers a Farmers' Market, a favorite event here on the Eastern Shore. The Courthouse was constructed in 1792 and St. Paul's Episcopal Church was constructed from materials used to build the original church back in 1640. While preserving its historic heritage, Centreville still manages to fit into the modern world. A business park is located at the southern part of town; the town boasts a modern library, a high and middle school and two elementary schools. Centreville was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
